Dear Esteemed Parents and Guardians,
My dear beloved Matriculating students,
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is with a heart full of joy that I welcome you to the 2023 Matriculation Ceremony of Peaceland College of Education when we witness the formal and concluding admission of our students into our various programmes for the 2022/2023 academic session. Looking at the socio-economic realities of the day, one would have thought that a shift of the day would have been a better option; but God through His infinite mercy and love has made this day a dream come true. Therefore, we are ever grateful to Him for He has continued to be our help in ages past and will continue to be our hope in years to come.
We welcome in a special way the Vice-Chancellor of Abia State University and his team of erudite scholars and astute administrators for finding time to be here to set the students on the path of academic stardom.
Peaceland College of Education is by design and divine crafted to put smiles on the faces of those who come by her way through her linkage with one of the most prestigious ivory towers in Nigeria – the Abia State University. It is the desire of the founding Mother and in consonance with the avowed determination of the management to work for the liberation of the human person from the shackles of ignorance and doldrums; hence our flourishing partnership with the Abia State University.
On our part, we assure the Vice-Chancellor and Abia State University in general of our unflinching and unmitigated loyalty in upholding the tenets of the University by giving the students and the society in general the type and quality education that engenders sustainable socio-economic and academic emancipation which the University stands for.
Once again, I thank the Vice-Chancellor and his team from Abia State University; the members of Academic and Administrative staff of the College; friends of the institution; and of course, the matriculating students for whom we are here today. May God Almighty continue to guide, protect and bless you abundantly as we work together in setting the stage for a better tomorrow in a world infested with contrary and contrarieties.
Thank you all
Rev. Fr. Prof. Leo. Ilechukwu
