  • A DAY OF GRATITUDE AS PEACELAND HOLDS 3RD BAZAAR

A DAY OF GRATITUDE AS PEACELAND HOLDS 3RD BAZAAR

Dear students, staff, parents, and friends of Peaceland,

Today we gather in gratitude thanking God for His many gifts and for the blessing of being together as a community. As we celebrate the 3rd Bazaar and Thanksgiving together, the Word of God for this Advent day speaks powerfully to us about trusting in God’s help, drawing strength from Him, and preparing our hearts for what He calls us to do.

In today’s first reading from the prophet Isaiah, God says to His people:

    > “Fear not, for I am with you… I will help you.”
When the poor and needy seek water and there is none… I will not forsake them.

These words are meant not just for ancient Israel they are meant for us today.
God promises to hold our hand, to be with us through every challenge especially when life seems difficult or when success seems far away. He does not abandon us when the path is hard. Rather, He strengthens us, gives us courage, and turns what looks like a desert into places of life and refreshment.

In the Gospel, Jesus praises John the Baptist calling him greater than all who came before yet showing that even the least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than John.

What does this mean for us?

    1. Be Honest and Trust in God

Just as John lived with courage and integrity calling people to repentance and truth we too are called to be people of honesty, faith, and boldness. The Vice Chancellor reminded you today that honesty and hard work are keys to success and God agrees. Integrity opens doors not only here on earth but also in the Kingdom of Heaven.

    2. God’s Kingdom is Already Here Among Us

Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of God is near and moving forward. Sometimes success and good results take time but God is already at work in every effort you make when it is done with faith, sincerity, and love.

    3. Give Thanks for God’s Provision

Today, as we thank God for this bazaar for the talents shared, for families gathered, and for friends supporting one another we also give thanks for God’s constant presence in our lives. Just as He promises to transform the barren places into springs of water, He turns our efforts and cooperation into blessings we can share with others....

PEACELAND COLLEGE CULTURAL WEEK FIESTA LOADING....

Peaceland College of Education, Enugu, through the Office of the Vice President, has announced its upcoming Cultural Week Fiesta, originally scheduled to hold from 9th to 12th December 2025 at the MSP Campus. The event, themed “Our Culture, Our Identity,” is designed to celebrate the richness of African heritage while strengthening unity and cultural awareness among students.

However, the management of Peaceland College of Education has made a slight adjustment to the Cultural Day schedule. In a notice released by Dean of Student Affairs; Dr. Usulor O. Jacob, the Cultural Day initially fixed for 12th December 2025 has now been rescheduled to Friday, 19th December 2025.
This change aligns with the NUC guidelines on extracurricular activities within campuses. The management regrets any inconvenience this adjustment may cause and appreciates the understanding and cooperation of the student community.
(Cc: Vice Chancellor, Provost, DAP, HRM, SUG)

This year’s Cultural Week Fiesta features a vibrant lineup of activities, including the Coronation/Offala Festival, traditional dance and music, art exhibition and wrestling, various cultural displays, and a keynote address by distinguished cultural and academic figures. These activities highlight the beauty, values, and diversity of African traditions while creating a lively and meaningful learning atmosphere.

As an academic institution committed to holistic education, Peaceland College of Education continues to promote both intellectual growth and cultural development. Cultural Week is a reminder that education extends beyond classroom learning it is also about embracing identity, promoting unity, and preserving cultural heritage. Through this event, students deepen their appreciation for their roots while gaining confidence, social awareness, and a stronger sense of belonging.

The Cultural Week Fiesta further strengthens the college’s mission of producing well-rounded graduates who value knowledge, culture, creativity, leadership, and respect for diversity qualities essential for nation-building and peaceful coexistence.

With excitement building across campus, Peaceland College of Education looks forward to a colourful and memorable celebration that will enrich students’ lives, promote cultural pride, and uphold the institution’s legacy as a centre for knowledge, discipline, and cultural preservation.
