Enugu, Nigeria – The air was alive with the sounds of traditional music, laughter, and vibrant colors as Peaceland College of Education celebrated its much-anticipated Cultural Day/Ofala 2024. The event, held on December 13th, drew students, faculty, and community members together in a grand display of cultural pride and unity.
From the moment attendees stepped onto the campus, they were greeted by beautifully decorated stalls showcasing various cultures represented at the college. Each stall offered a glimpse into the rich heritage of Nigeria, featuring traditional crafts, costumes, and mouth-watering delicacies. The scent of jollof rice and pepper soup wafted through the air, enticing everyone to sample the authentic flavors.
The highlight of the day was an exhilarating parade, where students donned traditional attire from different ethnic groups, including Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa. Dr. Ngozi Okafor, the college's dean, delivered an inspiring opening speech, emphasizing the importance of cultural heritage in fostering unity and understanding among students.
